    Queenstown stadium

The weather for these few weeks had been hot and humid. My body could easily warm up after a few sets of stretching. Fluid training become an important task especially before a tough training. But recently, i have not been taking note of my usual training diet. And enjoy the training with a free mind.

About 30 runners turned for this interval training. It had been ages since we visited Queenstown stadium. We did a 4 km warm up run to the stadium and my body was sweating like a pig. My stomach was not doing good, i rushed to the toilet for a quick release. After that, i proceeded quickly to the starting line as everyone was waiting for my instructions. I briefed the runners of what we were doing and specified the purpose of the training. Young runners, Joshua and Ken, had been frequent in our club. They are the next generation of Safra runners. I still remember myself as young runner when i first joined Safra - explosive in shorter distance.

We were doing 5 sets of 1.2 km run. Melvin have the most consistent pacer of all lead up front for every set. Joshua and myself were happy to stay behind him. The 3 of us did 4 min 30 sec for the 1.2 km. From there, i was getting faster and faster for each set. The 2nd set was 4 min 11 sec and the third was close to it. I asked everyone to take a drink break as it was like running in a suana room. I cut short one set as a precautious of any heat exhaustion. Everyone bursted out on the last set with Joshua doing his best set of 4 min 10 sec. Although the conditions was humid and hot, it was a good training session.

After that, everyone proceeded back with a slow 4 km run. I accompanied Dear on the way back. She was having a good form today.

    Tough trainings ahead

I haven't receive any MR letter yet and i guess i still need to take IPPT. I did a 2.4 km test last weekend. It was pretty tough as my heart and lung have not been working that hard recently. Nevertheless, i still managed to run a 8 min 50 sec. I will need to work it out if i like to break the 8 min barrier.

Most of them in the club were working hard for the Sundown marathon. Since i was not involved, i excused myself from those high mileage run and concentrated on short and high speed run. Sometimes i do get lazy ideas in my head without race in front. My blog side have reflected my laziness (lack of training).

But i will be back soon ... stay tune.
